Massage treatments in Corsham
Four treatments, from 30 to 90 minutes. Choose one, or let me blend techniques across your session — most people end up somewhere in between.
You do not have to know what you need
Plenty of people arrive saying “my shoulders are awful and I don’t know what to book”. That is completely fine. Tell me what is going on and I will suggest what would help most — before you commit to anything.
Swedish Massage
The classic full-body massage, and the one most people picture when they think of massage at all.
Long, flowing strokes combined with kneading and gentle friction, working the whole body or just the areas that need it. It eases everyday muscular tension, improves circulation, and gives your nervous system permission to drop out of high alert.
- Eases general muscle tension
- Improves circulation
- Helps with stress and low mood
- Supports better sleep
30 to 90 minutes · £30 to £70
Deep Tissue Massage
Slow, firm strokes and sustained pressure, working the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.
This is the one for chronic stiffness, old injuries and the knots that quietly limit how you move. It may cause some discomfort, but it should never be excessively intense — communication between us is what makes it work.
- Relieves chronic muscle tension
- Breaks down scar tissue
- Reduces inflammation
- Speeds recovery from sports injuries
30 to 90 minutes · £30 to £70
Indian Head Massage
An ancient Ayurvedic therapy that focuses on massaging acupressure points on the head, neck, upper back and shoulders.
It can be done seated or, if you prefer, on the massage couch. Only the upper half of the body is exposed, and you may opt to remain clothed throughout — which makes it a very easy first treatment if you have never had massage before.
- Relieves stress and tension
- Eases eye strain and sinusitis
- Helps headaches and migraines
- Improves scalp and hair health
30 or 45 minutes · £30 or £40
Hot & Cold Stone Massage
Heated basalt stones to carry warmth deep into the muscle, and chilled marble to calm and reduce inflammation.
Heat lets me reach tension far more quickly and comfortably than hands alone. Add cold stones and you get the contrast effect — wonderful for inflammation, puffiness and tired, overworked areas. Available as hot stone only, or hot and cold combined.
- Releases deep tension faster
- Soothes inflammation
- Deeply warming and comforting
- Excellent in cold weather
30 to 90 minutes · £40 to £85
What actually happens
If you have never had a massage before, here is the whole thing, start to finish. There are no surprises in it.
A quick chat
We go through a short consultation form — your health, any medication, injuries, and what you would like from the session.
Getting comfortable
I step out while you get onto the couch under the towels. You are covered at all times, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.
The treatment
I check the pressure as we go and adjust to suit. Talk if you want to, or say nothing at all — both are completely fine.
Afterwards
Take your time getting up. I will suggest anything worth doing at home, and we can book the next one if you would like to.
Common questions
Which treatment should I book?
If you are stressed and want to switch off, Swedish. If a specific area is tight, stiff or painful, deep tissue. If it is headaches, eye strain or a busy mind, Indian head. If you feel the cold and want something deeply comforting, stones. If you are not sure, get in touch and describe what is going on — I will tell you honestly what I think would help most.
How long should my treatment be?
Thirty minutes suits one area, such as back, neck and shoulders. Sixty minutes is the most popular choice and covers a full body treatment without rushing. Seventy-five or ninety gives time to work thoroughly on problem areas as well as the rest of you.
Do I have to undress?
For most treatments you undress to your underwear, and you are covered with towels throughout — only the area I am working on is uncovered. Indian head massage is the exception: you can stay fully clothed for that one if you prefer.
Will it hurt?
Swedish, Indian head and stone treatments should not hurt at all. Deep tissue can be uncomfortable in places, in a way that usually feels productive rather than painful. It should never be excessively intense — tell me and I will ease off immediately. Pressure is always your call, not mine.
Is there anything that would stop me having a massage?
A few things need care or a doctor’s go-ahead first — recent surgery, certain heart conditions, some skin conditions, DVT, or being in the first trimester of pregnancy. The consultation covers all of this. If you are unsure, ask me before you book rather than after.
How should I feel afterwards?
Usually relaxed, sometimes pleasantly sleepy. After deep tissue work you may feel a little tender for a day or so, much like after exercise. Drink plenty of water, avoid anything strenuous that evening, and let the treatment do its work.
